Full course description

A fully virtual training course for marine contractors to learn to install living shorelines for property owners, either alone or in addition to an existing seawall or other structure. 

Living shorelines are softer, greener alternatives to stabilize shorelines from erosion, sea level rise, and other damage. They protect, restore, or enhance natural shoreline habitat and maintain coastal processes through the strategic placement of plants, oyster shell, and other structural organic materials. Demand for these structures is increasing, and this course offers a mechanism to increase the supply of contractors who can fill 

Pre-Course (Prior to Sept 27): Complete pre-test and welcome module on Canvas (15-30 minutes)

Session 1: Sept 28, 2021, 8:00 AM - 12:30 PM Live on Zoom

Self-Guided Session: Sept 28 PM or Sept 29 AM - Field Tour, Videos

Session 2: Sept 29, 2021, 12:30 PM - 5:00 PM Live on Zoom

Continuing Education Credits offered:

- 6 credits from the Construction Industry Licensing Board (CILB) 

- 6 credits from the SER's Certified Ecological Restoration Practitioner (CERP) program

Registration fee includes full color printed copy of the course manual.
